WHY LASIK, WHY NOW? My boss had the vision correction done approximately nine years ago. He had worn very thick glasses, and he has had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Seltzer. So, I thought I would give them a call to see what could be done for me. I have been wearing glasses and contacts since I was about 13 years old. I first started wearing glasses, and then when I was about 20 years old, I started wearing contacts with a combination of glasses. It got to be such a bother that I could not do a lot of things that I wanted to do. For one thing, the glasses are such a hassle, and with the contacts, you are always worried about the wind blowing things into your eyes. Also, my contacts have been bothering me quite a bit lately, so I decided to have the surgery done.
SURGICAL EXPERIENCE I had no ill effects from the lasik surgery itself. I had some eye irritation the next day for a little while, but the day after that it started clearing up. I have never had any blurred vision or any other problems, just the initial scratching feeling, and the next day that feeling was gone.
OFFICE EXPERIENCE Excellent. I was treated very well. It has really been excellent. No problems at all. The staff has been great.
WOULD I DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN? Absolutely. The best thing about it is you don't have to worry anymore - about the contacts or the glasses. I get up in the morning and I am able to see normally. Before the surgery, I would always have to worry about where my glasses were or putting in my contacts first thing in the morning and having to pack a lot of different cleaning chemicals for my contacts when I go places. Now, it is nice to be "normal."
If I could say something to someone who was thinking about having lasik surgery, I would you tell them, "Do it. Borrow the money if you have to. It is worth the payments." One of my detectives this morning stated he was considering have the lasik surgery done.
