THE CHRISTMAS PRESENT: "I had no apprehensions what-so-ever, when I went into have it done. I had no fears what-so-ever. I just knew that after 23 years, that I wanted it done. I told my husband that I wanted it for my Christmas present, and he said, 'OK.' It took me a while to talk him into it, but he said, 'If that's what you want, go ahead and do it.' And I'd do it over again if I had to. I don't wear any glasses at all!"
BENEFITS OF 'NO GLASSES': "For the last 23 years I've worn glasses, I hated them, I hated them. It's a blessing for me not to have to wear them, because I can't stand anything on my nose, any pressure on my nose, and wearing those glasses, all those years. 23 years of wearing glasses. No more glasses. nothing! I can go to work everyday, work on the computer, paper work, everything, all day long. and no glasses!"
THE SURGERY EXPERIENCE: "I was at ease through the whole thing. I had taken the tranquilizer before and I felt nothing. I didn't even feel the bracket on your eye to hold your eye open. I did feel a little bit of pressure at one time, but he told me that I might feel a little bit of pressure. I felt nothing. No discomfort what-so-ever at all."
LETTING GO OF THE GLASSES: "Yeah, I don't even carry them with me. but I used to at first. I'd carry them in my pocketbook just for emergencies. just not knowing for sure. But, I don't even carry them with me anymore. They're sitting on my table at home. Dr. Seltzer told me that I could buy the little drugstore ones, but I haven't needed them, so I haven't bought them. You know, why get them, if you don't need them. I don't feel like I need them. But I've told so many people. A lot of people have asked me why they've seen me without my glasses, and I told them, 'I don't wear them anymore, that I had surgery!' And they go, 'what?!' And I say, 'yeah, I sure did!'"
