Jason S. Brody, M.D.
Jason S. Brody, M.D., is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon who joined The Seltzer Laser Center in November of 2006. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dr. Brody earned a B.A. in Spanish from Washington University in St. Louis, and received both his M.D. degree and his M.S. in Applied Physiology from the Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and his internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, also in Chicago. His areas of interest include cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, and functional eyelid surgery, as well as diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and retinal diseases, including diabetes and macular degeneration.
Dr. Brody has conducted extensive basic science and clinical research, including FDA trials for pharmaceuticals and LASIK surgery. His work has been presented at major scientific meetings and has led to several publications. He is also fluent in Spanish. Dr. Brody is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. He is also active in the South Carolina Medical Association and the Charleston County Medical Society. He lives in Charleston with his wife and baby boy.
