Dr. Sidney Seltzer, Director of the Seltzer Laser Center, has had a keen interest in Vision Correction procedures since they were introduced in 1979. He studied under Dr. Leo Bores and Dr. Fredrick Kremer in the early 1980's learning the skills of these remarkable procedures.
In 1984, he brought vision correction procedures to the low country in the form of radial keratotomy and astigmatic keratotomy. Using these procedures he brought vision without any correction to thousands of South Carolinians and other patients from the South-East.
When the Excimer Laser was approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in October of 1995, he began his study of laser as a tool to do vision correction procedures.
He was an FDA approved investigator for the Chiron Division of Bausch and Lomb and took an active role in the approval studies for the third generation Chiron 217 Laser.
Dr. Seltzer joined Carolina Eye Physicians in 2009.
To quote Dr. Seltzer, "This LASIK procedure is a miracle. I am blessed to be able to return natural sight to so many."
