Seltzer Laser Center

Dr. Seltzer will map both of your eyes using a wavefront scanner, called an analyzer or aberrometer. This device produces a very precise, detailed map of light rays as they travel through your eye, highlighting imperfections in your vision. A wavefront map of an eye with no visual errors appears to have a flat surface because all of the light rays travel evenly through the eye. A wavefront map of an eye with visual imperfections (aberrations) appears curved or distorted because some light rays reach the retina before others or strike different points on the retina.

By mapping both eyes using the wavefront analyzer, a very specific visual profile - often referred to as a visual FINGERPRINT - is created for each eye. Dr. Seltzer programs these unique profiles directly into the excimer laser used in surgery, customizing the procedure according to each eye's distinct vision correction needs.

Benefits Include:

Increased chance of 20/20 vision.

Greater predictability of visual outcomes.

An improvement to your quality of vision. For example, your regular TV set at home looks good but High Definition looks better because like Custom Wavefront treatment, the abnormalities of the picture are removed.
